Armstrong is part of the Armstrong Group, which is a diverse collection of family-owned and operated businesses in Western Pennsylvania. They had humble beginnings in the 1940s, at first only performing contract work setting telephone poles and hanging wires, before beginning to acquire telephone companies. The first Armstrong TV customers were connected in 1963, and the group added Zoom internet services in 1997.
