What do you need to get Discovery+?

You’ll first need to sign up to one of their two different plans. Reluctantly, the two paid plans have a 7-day free trial. Discovery+ recommends to have an Internet connection with a speed of at least 2.5 Mbps, though we advise having a faster connection if you have multiple devices connected and streaming all at once. Once that’s been completed, all you need is a compatible device to stream your favorite content on.

What features come with Discovery+?

Regardless of the package you choose, you will be able to take advantage of many of the same features on the Discovery+ app. Not only can you stream through a smart TV but you can also stream with a compatible tablet, phone, and even your desktop browser. You can stream on up to four devices at one time and anywhere. However, you can create up to five personalized profiles with your account. With each account you will be able to save episodes you wish to watch later. Currently, for only a limited number of episodes and specials, you can stream in Ultra HD through 4K-enabled Fire TVs and Apple TVs.

Can I watch Discovery+ without cable?

Yes, you can sign up for Discovery+ independent of a cable subscription, however, consider the channels that come with the streaming service and if there’s any gaps in content. It’s worth noting that Discovery+ currently does not offer live TV so the episodes you view are pre-recorded and will still need a cable package for new episodes and content still unavailable.
