How to Trade in Your Spectrum Mobile Phone

Our guide to Spectrum Mobile trade-ins will help you upgrade your smartphone and take advantage of this great program.

Find yourself asking questions like, “Can I trade in a phone with Spectrum?” or “How can I upgrade my Spectrum Mobile early?” If so, you have come to the right place.

Like many other providers, Spectrum mobile has a trade-in program you can use to get new devices. The Spectrum Mobile trade-in program is pretty straightforward as long as you have an eligible cell phone plan and a qualified device.

Not sure if your plan or device is eligible? Don’t worry; we’ll cover all that and more in this Smartmove guide to Spectrum Mobile trade-ins.

Below, we outline qualifying devices that are eligible for upgrades; which new devices you can get your hands on by trading in your old cell phone; and step-by-step instructions for trading in your device. Let’s dive in.

Which Phones Are Eligible for Spectrum Mobile Trade-Ins?

Spectrum’s trade-in program is unique in that the company will accept a long list of devices. If you have purchased your phone in the last couple of years, it is probably on the list of qualified devices.

Naturally, Spectrum offers a higher trade-in credit for newer devices. For instance, an iPhone 12 will probably earn you a higher credit than an iPhone SE. The same basic premise applies when talking about other popular cell phones like Samsung Galaxy or the Google Pixel.

Spectrum is constantly modifying or updating its trade-in offers. Typically, they encourage customers to allocate their trade-in credit toward the latest generation of devices, like the iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, they may also let you use your credit to unlock discounts on other devices. To view current trade-in deals, check out the Spectrum Mobile trade-in page.

How Spectrum Mobile Trade-Ins Work

The Spectrum Mobile trade-in process is very straightforward. To begin, you will first need to select which new device you would like to purchase. If you want to get the most bang for your buck, you should consider choosing a newly released device. Spectrum typically offers bonus cash toward these devices so you can save even more.

After you have chosen your new smartphone, Spectrum will ask for some basic information about your current device. They will then give you an estimated trade-in value. While these estimates are fairly accurate, it is critical that you are transparent about the function of your phone. Otherwise, you may find that your trade is worth far less than the program quotes.

Spectrum accepts trade-in devices manufactured by top names like Alcatel, Kyocera, HTC, Motorola, LG, Google, Samsung, and Apple.

In order to be eligible, the device must be yours. This means that you cannot still be paying installments on a payment plan.

After you have received your quote and are ready to turn over your old device, remove your sim card and restore it to factory settings. Make sure to erase all of your old data as well.

That’s it. Now you know how to take advantage of Spectrum’s trade-in program.
