Is B/R Live Right for You?
The Pros and Cons of B/R Live
Pros
- Expanded Sports Content. It provides access to live games from NBA, NHL, MLB, and more, as well as March Madness and US Soccer.
- Specific Game Access.
- Bleacher Report Content.
- Potential Cost Savings. Bundling the B/R Live content with a base HBO Max subscription could be more cost-effective than subscribing to multiple streaming services.
Cons
- Cost. It is included in Standard and Premium HBO Max plans, so it is essentially a mandatory price increase for those who only wanted sports content.
- Limited Content. It only includes select games, not all games from the leagues mentioned.
- Ads. Live sports events include commercials.

B/R Live offers both live streaming and video-on-demand content for sports fans. B/R Sports on HBO Max provides a streaming solution for fans interested in major sports events shown on TNT, TBS, and truTV, all within the existing HBO Max subscription environment.
While Sling TV may be the next most affordable option at $45.99/month, Max's Standard tier is priced at $16.99/month, which includes B/R Sports at no extra cost. This makes B/R Sports a particularly attractive option to enjoy a substantial lineup of live sports without the higher price tag of traditional cable or other live TV streaming bundles.

How do other streaming services compare?
B/R Live doesn’t offer a free trial. If you have the Standard or Premium plan for HBO Max, B/R Sports content is included at no extra charge.
If you start the live stream two hours after the event's start time, you will not begin the stream from the start of the event so that the live stream won't be cut off once it concludes in real-time. If you join the live stream within that two-hour window, you would be able to start from the beginning of the event, but the stream may be cut off if your device gets refreshed. A replay will be available for you to view shortly after the conclusion of the event.
B/R Live does not limit the number of streaming games that can be viewed on a single device.
B/R Live is only available with a subscription. The B/R Sports content is integrated into the Standard and Premium HBO Max plans.
